January Sharing Assembly - Teamwork

Earlier this week, students participated in our monthly sharing assembly.  The sharing assembly focused on Teamwork, which is the the January TDSB Character Trait. During the sharing assembly, students shared stories and examples of teamwork were discussed.  Classroom recognition certificates were also awarded.  In addition, one of our Grade 3 students, Olena, was recognized for a picture she painted for the school.  Olena is in Mrs. Adair's class and painted the picture because she felt inspired with the discussions she not only had in the classroom, but during assemblies as well.  The painting now has a home on the wall by the Primary entrance.  Way to go Olena and THANK YOU!!

Officer Rich Visit

Officer Rich visited with students in Grades 1 and 4 today.  For those that do not know Officer Rich, he is our Community Officer from the Toronto Police Services.

Today, he spoke to the Grade 1 students about personal safety and how deal with a stranger.  He also spoke to the Grade 4 students about Internet Safety.  Both discussions were extremely informative.  Students were fully engaged and asked many questions.

Officer Rich also brought his car into the schoolyard and allowed students to have a look inside during recess.  This was a HUGE hit!

A big thank you to Officer Rich!  He will be back in the next few weeks to speak with Grades 2, 5, 6 and 8 as part of the Toronto Police Services School Program.
