Student Character Education Assembly

This morning all classes participated in our January Teamwork Character Education Sharing Assembly. Each month, the staff and students will meet and discuss the TDSB Character Trait of the month.   Here is a link for more information: TDSB Character Traits.  Students and classes are also invited to share some of their classroom achievements.  Today, we viewed a digital story called Franklin's Big Game.  The story discussed fairness, teamwork, and the importance of working together regardless of winning or losing. Here is the video link:  Franklin's Big Game. The grade 4/5's also shared a video of their collaboration on building bridges. Next month the TDSB Character Trait is Fairness.

No school - January 24

Tomorrow is a Professional Activity Day and the school will be closed.  Teachers will be spending the day completing student assessments and working on report cards.

Book Character Day - January 27

In celebration of Family Literacy Day, on Monday January 27, Ancaster PS will have its very own Book Character Day.  Be creative, have fun and dress up like your favourite book character.  There will be prizes for the class with the most characters.  I have my costume ready to go!

Special visitor at Ancaster PS.

Ancaster PS had a very special visitor in our playground at lunch.  Students and staff were very excited to see a Snowy Owl perched on one of the flower boxes.  To learn more about the Snowy Owl, check out this National Geographic link:
